2 Disaster-related deaths and suicides

The earthquake took a heavy toll in deaths and suicides.

The number of disaster-related deaths after the Great East Japan Earthquake is the largest in Fukushima Prefecture, totalling 2,272 (as of June 2019).

Also, the number of suicides related to the disaster has risen to more than 100.

It is said that these are due to the prolonged evacuation, the loss of the connection of hometown, loss of livelihood or occupation, and the loss of families and friends.
